A Child’s Eyes

A Child’s Eyes

The light in a child’s eyes is only extinguished

When we take their dreams.

Never be the one to take a child’s dreams,

For when you do you'll look into their eyes

And no longer see that light.

The darkness left in a child’s eyes when they loose their sparkle

Is really just a remnant of what they saw in your eyes.

From when you lost your sparkle,

It was the day your soul darkened

For the first time.
