Magical Mind

Magical Mind

Closing your eyes,

with a magical mind,

Is a dangerous thing at best.

It can open a world,

That’s a wonderful place,

Or a door to a demonic abyss.

You can see fairies,

and flowers,

and fuzzy little fur balls,

that smile all day,

while they laugh and they play.

On bad days,

there are mouths full of teeth,

churning and spinning,

ripping and tearing,

while children scream.

Closing your eyes,

while loved ones are away,

brings screams from the other room,

as you run to their aid the rooms not the same,

it bends and it twists to keep you away.

Your loved one keeps hurting,

You can’t get to them,

On and on

You search and you try,

With glimpses of their hurting in your mind’s eye,

She screams and she cries

and you can’t seem to help,

Your helpless emotions sore,

While the blows are dealt.

She screams and you see her,

she walks through the door,

She’s raped and beaten,

With puffy red eyes,

"I called for you,

And you never came.

He hit me,

And hurt me,

in ways I can’t describe.

You never came,

I called for you,

And you never came,

where were you?"

She says

As she sobs and she cries.

My heart fills with grief

and my chest starts to ache.

I wake with a start,

My own tears in my eyes.

Knowing for certain

She’s hurt or in pain,

I can’t see her

or talk to her

I can’t verify

Whether she is ok.

My chest aches,

Waiting for her to pop up online,

She’s ok, she’s safe,

I was wrong this time.

There are only a few more hours,

Before I have to do it again.

It hurts so bad,

When you can’t help,

Even if it’s not real.

I can’t turn it off,

This magical mind,

It spins and it turns,

And it does its own thing,

Opening doors,

To worlds that aren’t real,

To anyone outside

and not behind these closed eyes.

I wake up so tired,

From the trials I face,

And running around this magical place.

I just want it to turn off,

If only for a little while.
