A Matter of Perspective
A Matter of Perspective
The way we see it
One day they are eggs in an incubator
The next day they are baby chicks
We see a transformation from one form to another
What they see
Their entire existence has been confinement
They have seen shapes and shadows
Heard sounds
But they are all a mystery
The mystery of “beyond the shell”
To them
They are all that is
There is nothing else in existence
Then one day
The shell opens up and everything that they knew
Is irrelevant
Everything that they knew
Fades into nothing
As a whole new world opens
They haven’t changed but the world around them has changed.
I wonder if this has anything in it that we can learn from
We as humans
See outside of our little world
But we only hear rumors of what’s beyond our sky
We see pictures
But Earth to us is kind of like an egg
When our time comes
And lifts the veil
Will our consciousness and our perception of everything we have known
Fade into nothingness
As a whole new world emerges
Is world too small a word
What will it be like to finally comprehend infinity?
Will we look at God
And feel so small
Not just because of the immensity of God
But because we were so wrong
Based on our limited comprehension
of the possibility of what we believed God to be.
Will we even be able to understand at first?
Will we also be ashamed
About our previous fears
Of
“the breaking of the shell”
Will our former fears of death seem ludicrous?
Because I believe
I long for
“the breaking of the egg”
