America, The Land of Opportunity

Corruption

Government lies

Poverty

sure we have it

that is universal

but America is still by far the most wonderful land of opportunity

that has ever existed

We are just too caught up in the everyday monotony.

We have gotten so used to luxury

that we don't have a clue how bad it is in some places.

Even our poor families have one or two cars

the only people that go hungry in America are either

mentally ill

or they suffer from a substance abuse problem

there are children here also that suffer

because of their parents addictions

there are other people that are impoverished

because they just don't know that they can change their situation.

I will stand by this next statement until the day that I die

“The main problem in America

is ignorance plain and simple”

the ignorance comes, not in the form of lack of a general education,

most Americans have a relatively good education when it comes to book smarts.

The ignorance comes in the form of not realizing how good they have it.

Anybody can go to college here

especially the poor

we have so many programs to help people up

I wish we could show the poor people here just what it is like in other countries

I myself am looking for motivation

so I am watching every video clip that I can find

and looking at all of the pictures that I know to be authentic

that I can find on-line

I have been to Mexico, not just to the border towns

but I have seen places where there are a lot of houses

that

are basically shacks

pieced together boards and tin

and that is still a nice place compared to many other places

People all over the world are trying to get here for a reason.

We as Americans have an opportunity

the opportunity to become anything that we are physically able to.

We are only limited by our ability to comprehend that we have no limitations other than the ones that we impose on ourselves

by our own ignorance and inability to accept that the man isn't the one keeping us down

My fellow Americans

I cry out to you

desperate to inspire you to step out of your comfort zone

shed of your preconceived notions

of being held down

Dare to dream

just like the people from other countries

that give all that they have

to get to our wonderful country

become what you have always wanted to become.
