Senior Carlos is a relatively new family owned Mexican restaurant

In Salem Arkansas

I first heard about this restaurant on the Salem Arkansas Topix web site. There were so many people putting this place and the owners down because they aren’t white that I just had to go and show my support for them.

Mandy and I went to have lunch at Senior Carlos on Wednesday July 28^th of 2010. The restaurant is located in the Sky View shopping center at 680 Hwy 62 West in Salem Arkansas.

The staff was very nice, the restaurant was clean, and the food was amazing. Mandy got a taco salad and Flan for dessert. I got the number 25 which was a taco, a chalupa, and a tostada. We enjoyed chips and salsa while we waited for the food. The food arrived quickly, it was hot and delicious. I can even say that it was the best Mexican food in the area. We have eaten Mexican food in Batesville, Melbourne, Mt. View and Mt. Home and all pale in comparison to the great Authentic Mexican food at Senior Carlos.  I almost felt like I had been magically transported back in time to one of my many trips to Mexico.

If you get anywhere near Salem Arkansas you have to make a stop at Senior Carlos. You owe it to yourself. The food is amazing.

The only negative thing that I can say is the same thing that I can say about most restaurants now days. They have 2 televisions and it took away from the family experience. Of course I am biased. I hate television.

That being said, Senior Carlos is a great restaurant with great food and great service.
