Tumbling in dreams of forever
Tumbling in dreams of forever,
I fall further into the nothing,
as my mind wraps around concepts of fading destinies.
Each road not taken is a life not lived,
a goal not achieved,
and a dream never to be realized.
The dreams become like children lost to strangers,
always on your mind but never to be held again.
When one can hardly envision success,
following through risks failure,
the death of the dream,
while just letting the dream float off into the never-never,
means that at least it gets to live on,
even if it will never be yours to hold again.
Even with the nightmares,
Sleep is better than life,
Being ripped apart by monsters when you’re skinny
Is better than being safe and fat any day.
I let my dreams float off
To protect them from death
And I, myself slip into a dream
That protects me from the reality of life.
