I have been searching for what seems like forever

 in a dream where forever is longer than only one lifetime.

Today I found the possibility of a door,

It’s still lost in the darkness somewhere and it’s locked,

chained and welded shut

but I know that it’s there somewhere

and that is at least a step forward.

I have worked through everything that I have conscious memory of

but something still eludes me.

It’s a darkness

 wrapped in a black cloak

and it’s buried somewhere in the night.

I will continue searching

 in hopes that eventually the healing will be complete.
