New diet plan for 2011 - Lose weight or die trying

According to my height, weight and sedentary lifestyle I have estimated my daily energy consumption to be 3000 calories. Taking into consideration that the body can usually only store 2 days worth of glycogen I estimate that there is approximately 6000 calories worth of glycogen in my body.  It usually takes me 2 ½ to 3 days to get into ketosis on the no carb diet. I have a theory that if I work out and burn 6000 calories in one day.

 

For my height and weight I use about 2892 calories per day. My theory is that if I burn 3000 extra calories in one day that I might get into ketosis in one day.

I calculated that for my body size I would burn 1,007 calories per hour by chopping wood. Since digging with a pick would be the same type of activity I will assume that it will burn the same amount of calories.

Just sitting like I usually do burns 175 calories an hour for somebody my size.  If I subtract 175 from 1007 that leaves me with about 900 additional calories burnt per hour by digging instead of sitting. If I dig for 3 hours that is almost a day’s calories used up. Keeping in mind that my body is so out of shape that I couldn’t do that work straight through. I plan to alternate the digging with minor tasks.

 

I am going to take a before picture of myself and document my progress. I will break every 14 days from the no carb diet. I will increase my work output to burn an additional 2700 calories per day. There are about 3500 calories in one pound of body fat. The work alone should burn off 23.4 pounds of fat. The additional benefit from the no card diet should be tremendous. The time that I lost weight before I lost between 3 to 8 pounds per week. If we take a conservative estimate of 3 pounds per week that is about 12 pounds extra per month for  being in ketosis. If we take that 35 pounds and subtract 1/3rd of that because 35 pounds a month is too hard to comprehend, we get our estimated 23 pounds a month of weight loss.

About 2 years ago I lost about 60 pounds in 3 months. That was with very little exercise. That was walking or riding a bike to school and work and basically nothing more.  The walking took about 90 minutes and burned approximately 690 calories. Subtracting the 262 calories that I would have burnt by sitting around that means that I burnt approximately 428 extra calories per day.

With my new plan I should burn 2272 additional calories per day. That cones out to an additional 19 pounds per month on top of the 20 a month that I lost before. That is 39 pounds per month that should be lost. That is close to the estimated 35 pounds a month that I estimated as possible before.

I will take the conservative estimate of 23 pounds per month as my goal for 3 months. That would have me losing 69 pounds by April 7th. This is an unhealthy amount of weight to even consider losing that fast. Unfortunately afterward I will still be morbidly obese.

Whether I can attain this goal is yet to be determined but this diet is amazing. You have tons of extra energy and you hardly ever get hungry. I am going to try it.

There are some of you that will warn me that this is extremely dangerous, for you I have this to say, Subtract your weight from 365. Go out and get a back pack and fill it with weight equivalent to the number that you get. Walk around with that every day of your life. You should also put a belt around your chest compressing your heart and lungs to the point where you are out of breath after about 50 steps. This is the basic effect that I have created for myself with my weight. I challenge you to try it for just one day.

Everything in my life now is awesome but I can’t even enjoy most of it because I can’t do anything. If I continue on this path I have 2, maybe 3, years left and those aren’t quality years. Those are years filled with heart attacks and hospitalizations.

I can’t lose weight the conventional way. I have tried it more times than I can count in my life time.

So go ahead and think that it’s dangerous, think that I shouldn’t do it, think whatever you want, but please don’t say it to me because it’s hard enough facing the day like this without somebody with good intentions smashing my dreams. Most of you have been encouraging but if you knew how many times I have had the wind taken out of my sails by people with good intentions, you would think twice about doing it.

Even if it is dangerous and even if it kills me, there is a chance that I won’t need a custom built piano sized coffin with 12 pallbearers this way.

With that being said. I am off on a grand adventure.
