Arkansas Winter

Ice in bowls

Replaced with warm water

Thirsty birds

Drink their fill

Ducks dip their beaks

And raise the heads up high

Making funny noises as they drink.

Nugget and Fries

Wait their turn

Pacing round their pen

Bunny pushes my hand

He wanted his water first

Goats run in circles

Opie chases Elly May

Wanting more than a drink

Cottondog isn’t thirsty

She gets an omelet this morning

Winters are mild here
