Times and Trials of Everyday Life
Times and Trials of Everyday Life
Tomorrow
I graduate with my Associates of Arts Degree
I never thought that would be possible.
A few days ago Mandy and I
put the down payment on our 3rd piece of land
that’s not including our 40 Acre gold claim in California.
It is spring time and our baby goats are doing fine
We got a bander today
We are going to castrate them
It will only hurt for a while then it will go numb and they will just drop off
It sounds horrible but it is completely safe
And it is a common practice used every day all across America.
Our baby ducks are waddling all around with their two moms
That’s right we have a lesbian duck couple
Each year even if they only have one duck
They raise the little ones together sharing the responsibility
Don’t tell anybody though
We don’t want anyone protesting out front of our home
We had a baby chick hatch last night
He is doing just fine
There is another one part way out of its shell
I hear it peep every once in a while.
Everything is going so well
But there is a cause of fear on the horizon
The hearing is on the 18th of this month
We have a restraining order until then
After that
Its up to the Izard County Court System
For those of you who aren’t aware of the situation
The father of Mandy’s children
Tried to kill himself in front of Mandy’s son
This is the same man that hit her son with a cutting board,
According to the children
This is the same man that let an 8 an 4 year old play outside in the cold
While he was sleeping
And he let those same children play unsupervised
which resulted in one of the kids
basically going through a window
because they were jumping on the bed
The kids would be alone until noon
having to get breakfast for the 4 year old while the adults slept in
The father of the kids has recently went back to having one of his ex’s live with him
This woman gave her daughter up for adoption because she was unable to take care of her.
She and Mandy’s ex had a baby
They were unable to handle taking care of it
So they gave it up for adoption
I think that there needs to be a question asked
With so many discarded children
“With the continuing pattern of neglect
and the discarding of your other children
why on earth should you get visitation with these children.”
Children aren’t a right,
They are a privilege.
They aren’t a burden
They are a privilege
They aren’t something that you have to deal with
when you can get your sleepy Butt out of the bed
They are a wonderful gift
They are little human beings
With hopes and dreams
Hopes and dreams that are so easy to squash
Even for adults that work hard at it.
But for those that look upon their children
As a burden
It is so easy for that type of adult
To squash the dreams and self esteem of a child.
Our lives are going so well now
I can’t imagine sending the children back to the home of a man that restricts the medication of a child because he thinks that he knows better than the doctor.
And lets the children stay up late in hopes that they will sleep in later
Or a man that bloodied an infant’s face
And tried to kill his unborn son.
I’m just completely amazed that visitation is even being considered
That’s enough for now.
I just had to get that out of my head.
