There are Secrets in the Ozarks

There are secrets in the Ozarks.

I’m not talking about the scandals that time forgot. 

I’m not talking about the skeletons in the closets of the Mountain Folk. 

I’m talking about secrets that aren’t meant to be secrets.

I just found out about a Pulp Ark festival in Batesville.

I heard that they have a live action play of some sort.

There are many things like this around here

that I don’t hear about until they day they are happening

 or until they are over.

We have different festivals,

music performances

and many other things around here

We even have some kind of Ho-Down thing in Mt. View

We have an awesome drive in theater

and another theater in Batesville called the Melba

These are treasures that are almost hidden

Maybe because the owners just think that everyone knows about them already

But things just have a way of blending into the hills around here.

Even at Ozarka

I don’t hear about things like the spring carnival

Until the night it happens

I think that it would be nice to have a way to organize one spot

To keep track of all of these great local attractions

Even if I have to do it myself

This is a magical place

And there isn’t any reason for these things

to be missed because they weren’t publicized.
