Hypothetically speaking

Let’s talk, behaviors of children

Just out of curiosity

If you knew an 8 year old boy

That went to a home where he had witnessed some really scary situations

Including his father holding a knife

And saying he was going to kill himself.

If that same child had seen his father choke his girlfriend

In that house

And that 8 year old child

Went back to his father’s house

For his first visit in a long time

And when he came home

That very same day that he came home

That passive little boy

kicked and beat his sister

and the next day he wrote on a jacket that meant a lot to her

and from what you could gather

he did it just to destroy something that meant something to her

would this concern you?

would you worry about it?

would it keep you awake at night?

This is just hypothetically speaking of course

Even though these are things that have happened for real this week

Its better if we speak hypothetically

Because we can’t do anything about it anyway.

I was always proud to live here

That pride is fading

Shame is filling the void

What good does it do to care?
