What Would Hitler Do?

(Very Rough Draft)

          Hedy Lamarr formerly known as Hedwig Kiesler stared in a 1933 Czechoslovakian film called Ecstasy (aka Ekstase or Extase). In 1935 “The film was confiscated by the Treasury Department (US Customs) when it was imported into the US - the first film to be blocked for censorship purposes” (Filmsite).

          According to Filmsite.org she did a nude swimming scene and ran after her horse naked because the horse stole her clothes. There was also a simulated sex scene where the camera focused on her face while the director poked her with a safety pin to get her to make a face that simulated that she was reaching her peak.

           “Hitler banned the film, and Pope Pius XII denounced it.” (Tribe)  In 1935 even Hitler didn't approve of brief nude scenes. I wonder what Hitler would think about modern day programming. It isn't that I care what a horrible racist dictator thought, but more of, what have we become as a society.

          I think that instead of asking “What Would Jesus Do?”, we should start out by asking  ourselves, “What Would Hitler Do?” and once we get back to a level of morality that Hitler would have approved of, maybe then we could work our way up to wondering what Jesus would do.
