Broken Dreams

I have many broken dreams

That doesn’t mean what you think that it means

What it means is

That I never expect to have anything nice

So I buy broken things that I intend to repair

I hardly ever get them working

So most of my dreams are broken

This comes from growing up with a low self esteem

Somewhere in my past

I decided that I wasn’t worth as much as regular people

This is a very unproductive frame of mind.

I have slowly, after many years of work

Started to change this frame of mind

I am working on getting rid of my broken dreams

I think that’s why I scrapped my truck

I’m worth more than I gave myself credit for

I am going to get rid of some of my broken dreams

I don’t know how to expect good things

I don’t know how to believe in myself

But I’m trying to learn

I’m not a Christian

But I believe that if you find wisdom anywhere,

Even if the source is an archaic hate filled tool of control,

Collect it

I am spending this month

Clearing out some broken dreams

And some energy draining projects

I’ve spent years building my self esteem back up

It will take many more years

And a lot of hard work

But life is about evolution

The evolution of mind, body, and soul

Gaining knowledge
