This Morning I Took a Spirit Journey

I went to Adrian to see my friend

His girlfriend was murdered many years ago

One of the murderers is in prison

The other is free

My friend used to be one of the most

bad ass bikers in Michigan

Now, he is a prison minister

I went to my friends house

He surprised me

by telling me

that the guy that murdered his girlfriend

that is free

has turned over a new leaf

I knew that the guy says that he has changed

But I always doubt people that talk about Jesus

Because so many people use that name

To fool people in to thinking that they are good people

Its pretty much just the thing to do

If you’re a bad guy and you want

to get out of facing the consequences of your actions

So of course I didn’t believe him

My friend went so far as to ask me to forgive the guy

The next part isn’t very likely

the murderer walked out of the back room

Our eyes met

And I understood

We shook hands

I forgave him for the years of fear and worry

I forgave him for killing her

I forgave him for being part of the biggest thing

that I have ran from my whole life

Afterward

I said goodbye to my friend

I floated out of the door

Up in to the sky

And back to Arkansas

Settling back in to my own bed

I awoke to find that I felt more free

I forgave one of the men

that caused so much fear and pain in my life

there is still one to go

but that one will be tough

he has killed so many innocent people

My work continues
