Last Night’s Dream Walking

After I woke up at about 7am

I started dream walking

I went back to every incident

That I could remember

Where I ever hurt someone

Or I hurt someone’s feelings

I started with me as a little boy

The last time that I ever took the last of anything

I took the last piece of chicken

And someone started in on me

It was a junkie

That told me how he had wanted that last piece

I remember crying

I apologized to him

And I asked God for forgiveness

I did that for each event

Every single thing that I could remember

I spent three hours dream walking

I asked God to forgive me

for everyone that I ever hurt

I felt good when I woke up

It took a lot out of me

But I think that it was worth the effort

I try to move forward every day

It’s been a long road

But I’m happy with my progress.
