The story of The Old Man and the Sea

Is about an old man

Named Santiago

I won’t say too much about this story

Because it is so wonderful

That it would be sad

if I took even a fraction

of it from you

by revealing any of the story

before you read it

I just wonder

How many of us

Would have the desire

To live life

If it meant living it

Like the fisherman of Cuba lived it

in the 50’s

I also wonder

What we are missing

By not living it that way

If you haven’t read this book

Read it

If you’ve already read it

Read it again

But when you read it

Try to take yourself there

Smell the sea

Feel the wind on your face

Taste the saltwater

Feel the pull of the line

Become

That old man in the little boat
