An Unconventional Life

When you live an unconventional life
and time is something different to you than it is to most everyone else
what does it matter when you do things

I want to go outside in the dark
and finish cutting the steel for the scrap yard

I try to fit in to the normal world
but I'm not normal
I never have been

so is it alright to embrace my weirdness
is it ok to be different

is it ok to be the person that people whisper about

I'm tired of pretending
besides, I'm not very good at pretending
