Knowledge is everywhere

Knowledge is everywhere

Every being has something to teach

We can learn from

The smallest child

The illiterate thief

The drug addict

And the cynical angry person

we can even learn from the racist

or the person of an opposing religion

or political party

the lesson may not be

what they want to teach us

it may have to do with

how they got to where they are

or how they formed their beliefs

from the racist

we might learn how

to increase our tolerance

of those that are different

by looking at why they hate

we may learn from the homophobic

they could teach us that hate

and intolerance

are learned responses

By watching children

And asking them why

they did something

a certain way

or by watching them problem solve

we can watch a bird

that knows when

it’s time to let go of her babies

and let them grow beyond her teaching

letting them fly away

and live their own lives

we can learn from a tree

by seeing how it

reaches deep to spread its roots

and how its roots

can break even concrete

by slowly and steadily

growing in the direction that it chooses

We can learn

from those that

we’d rather not be around

we can

learn from those that

we’d rather not be like

so don’t dismiss any chance to learn

even if your first thought

is omg look at that person

I would never do what they’re doing

Because by ignoring the lesson

That they have to offer

Might just put you in the position

To make the same mistakes

That they made

To get where they are

Learn everything that you can

From any source

No matter how different

That source may be

The biggest sign

that you need to step back

and take a second look

is when your absolutely positive

that your right.
