Tim Tebow – One Wiccan's Opinion
Tim Tebow – One Wiccans
Opinion
This is just one man’s opinion.
Most of us have heard of Tim Tebow. He is a football player that makes public displays to glorify Jesus.
I want to start out by saying that I really don’t like where
this is heading. There are people that are building him up to be way more than
he is. When his passing record hit 316 yards it was like people were starting
to think that he was the second coming of Jesus Christ.
The problem with that, at least in my opinion, is that Tim is
just a man. He isn’t trying to make you believe that he is the second coming.
He isn’t trying to bring glory upon himself. He isn’t using God’s name like the
politicians do. He isn’t asking you to send him money to pray for you like some
of the big television evangelists.
Tim is doing one thing. He is
praising his God. I don’t see anything deceptive in his actions. He is genuine
and that is commendable.
If we build him up as super
human we are setting him up to take a fall. He is just a man. He will make
mistakes and he will make bad choices and that’s ok. If we build him up as more
than he is then we take away from his simple act of faith. His future mistakes
will become something more than they are, just human mistakes, and that would be
unfortunate.
Do you think that he would want to be thought of as someone special in a
religious aspect or do you think that his intent is to just be a great football
player while he is showing his love to his God?
I don’t believe that Tim would
be happy with the focus that is being put on his stats as some kind of sign
from God.
In my opinion
I Think that he would want you to take away the message that Jesus is great and
through him we can do all things.
I’m not a
football fan or a Christian but I like Tim Tebow. I appreciate his honest faith
in his God and I respect his dedication.
That being
said I still enjoy a good joke about him and Jimmy Fallon’s little skit “Tebowie”
was hilarious, well done Jimmy.
Keep the faith
Tim, you’re doing just fine.
